This intervention is concerned with general increases in the proportion of natural or semi-natural habitat in the landscape. Studies describing the effects of creating specific habitat types and the use of individual restored sites are discussed in ‘Habitat restoration and creation’. For studies that may carry out this intervention alongside other interventions to benefit bats on farmland, see ‘Introduce agri-environment schemes’.
